Plus Renewable Technologies Ltd., a Hong Kong-headquartered renewable energy investor, and private investor Avondale Solar LLC agreed to sell their 350-MWac Fighting Jays Solar project to an affiliate of Denmark-headquartered infrastructure investor Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
AP Solar Holdings LLC, a joint development company of Plus Renewable and Avondale Solar, is developing the project. Ground is expected to be broken on the Fighting Jays Solar project in Fort Bend County, Texas, in the second half of 2020, with commercial operation by the summer of 2022, according to a March 18 news release. The project is to be built in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas Inc.'s Houston zone.
According to S&P Global Market Intelligence data, Copenhagen Infrastructure owns three wind projects and one solar project in the ERCOT market. "This transaction signifies another major investment by CIP in the Texas renewable energy market," the company's senior partner, Christian Skakkebaek, said in the news release.
