Accredo Packaging, a supplier of flexible packaging for the food and consumer products markets, has completed a 200,000-square-foot expansion of its Sugar Land campus.
Houston-based Design/Build firm KDW completed the $50 million project, which represents the company's third expansion since opening the campus in 2009. The facility at 12682 Cardinal Meadow Drive contains close to 550,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space on 32 acres.
Accredo's products include packaging for snack foods, confectionery items, frozen foods and pet treats, overwraps for paper towels and shrink bundle film for bottled water.
“Accredo Packaging recognized the importance of offering more sustainable packaging solutions over a decade ago, and the continued growth of the sustainable packaging market has allowed us to expand our footprint even further, create jobs, and help leading consumer products companies meet their environmental goals,” Rex Varn, executive vice president for Accredo Packaging, said in an announcement.
The Sugar Land campus, which uses 100 percent wind-generated electricity, was granted LEED Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council for its sustainable site design, water conservation and energy efficiency.
Part of the API group of companies, Accredo has more than doubled its workforce since 2017. The company plans to add 100 new jobs through 2021.
