Balmoral has overtaken Bridgeland as the top-selling master-planned community in the Houston area so far this year.
Developed by Houston-based Land Tejas, Balmoral reported 458 sales from January through June 2021, according to RCLCO Real Estate Consulting's "The Top-Selling Master-Planned Communities of Mid-Year 2021." That's up 12% from the same time last year.
Balmoral lands at No. 12 this year, with Bridgeland at No. 14. Developed by The Woodlands-based Howard Hughes Corp. (NYSE: HHC), Bridgeland reported 433 sales for the first half of 2021, up 2% year over year.
Last year, Bridgeland was No. 10, and Balmoral was No. 12.
Both Land Tejas and Howard Hughes Corp. have multiple communities on the list. Howard Hughes Corp.'s Summerlin in Las Vegas is No. 3 with 962 sales, up 50%. Land Tejas' Sierra Vista/Sterling Lakes in Arcola in Fort Bend County is No. 20 with 397 sales, up 52%, and its Lago Mar in Texas City is No. 36 with 297 sales, up 38%. Both Balmoral and Lago Mar boast Crystal Lagoon among their amenities.
Houston-based Johnson Development Corp. is also well represented on the list, with Sienna in Missouri City at No. 26, Cross Creek Ranch in Fulshear at No. 42, Viridian in Arlington at No. 48 and Woodforest in Montgomery at No. 49.
